Highest number of endemic birds in Africa with specials including Ruspoli’s Turaco, Thick-billed Raven, Rouget’s Rail, Stresemann’s Bushcrow and more.  On the mammal front, we have good chances of seeing the highly endangered Ethiopian Wolf, Gelada Baboon and possibly Striped Hyena.

The best of West African birding from rain forests to dry savannah.  Highlights include the peculiar White-necked Rockfowl, African Piculet and various other upper Guinea endemics. Other excellent species include Blue Cuckoo-shrike, Black Bee-eater, Egyptian Plover and Standard-winged Nightjar.

We target the larks (Red, Stark’s, Sclater’s, Karoo, Cape Long-billed, Barlow’s, Black-eared Sparrowlark) and other species endemic to the semi-arid Northern Cape (Cinnamon-breasted Warbler, Karoo Eremomela) as well as other difficult-to-find birds in South Africa (Rosy-faced Lovebird, Black-headed Canary).

The best of East Africa with excellent opportunities for Shoebill, Great Blue Turaco, African Green Broadbill, Green-breasted Pitta, amongst several other Albertine Rift endemics, Mountain Gorillas and Chimps. Uganda has to be on everyone’s bucket-list!

This trip focusses on the specials of the north-eastern Namibia along the Zambezi and Kavango Rivers and the panhandle of the Okavango.  This area is excellent for Pygmy Goose, African Skimmer, Rock Pratincole, Pel’s Fishing Owl, Wattled Crane and more. Being on the northern boundary of the Southern African region, it is a desirable location where species on the limits of their range, such as Souza’s Shrike, Rufous-bellied Tit and Sharp-tailed Starling, can be found, as well as being one of the easiest places to find the swamp specialist, Luapula Cisticola.

The main target of this trip is a mammal: the Dugong! But while we are in the area we’ll also be looking for Olive Bee-eaters, Green Tinkerbird, any of the tropicbirds and other seabirds which are found in these warmer waters.

This trip offers your best chance of seeing the elusive African Pitta, as they perform their curious display at the start of the rainy season. Also present are African Broadbill, Swynnerton’s Robin and White-chested Alethe. We will visit the only known site for Bohm’s Bee-eater in the southern African region and will climb Mount Gorongosa for the localised population of Green-headed Oriole.
